Aaron Rodgers fails to lead Packers to victory in return to the field

Green Bay falls to Detroit in overtime

Rodgers throws touchdown pass, but Packers defense gives up game-winning field goal

Aaron Rodgers made his much-anticipated return to the field on Sunday, but it wasn't enough to lead the Green Bay Packers to victory. The Packers fell to the Detroit Lions 23-20 in overtime, with Rodgers throwing a touchdown pass but also being intercepted twice.

The Packers got off to a slow start, falling behind 10-0 in the first half. Rodgers was intercepted on his first pass attempt of the game, and the Lions took advantage with a field goal. The Packers defense also struggled, allowing the Lions to drive the length of the field for a touchdown on their opening possession.

The Packers finally got on the board with a field goal late in the first half, but the Lions answered back with another touchdown to take a 17-3 lead into halftime. The Packers came out firing in the second half, with Rodgers leading them on a touchdown drive to cut the lead to 17-10. The Packers defense also forced a three-and-out on the Lions' next possession, giving the ball back to Rodgers and the offense.

The Packers tied the game on their next possession with a Mason Crosby field goal, and then took the lead on a Rodgers touchdown pass to Davante Adams. The Lions answered back with a field goal to tie the game again, and the two teams traded field goals in the final minutes of regulation to send the game to overtime.

The Lions won the coin toss in overtime and elected to receive the ball. They drove down the field and kicked a game-winning field goal to secure the victory.

Rodgers finished the game 26-of-42 for 291 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Adams led the Packers in receiving with eight catches for 121 yards and a touchdown.
