USA Basketball Announces Roster for 2024 Olympics
Team Boasts Star-Studded Lineup with 10 Olympic Gold Medals and 3 FIBA World Cup Titles
Led by LeBron James and Kevin Durant, Roster Features Nine Previous USA Team Members
The United States Basketball Team has unveiled its roster for the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, and it is stacked with some of the NBA's biggest stars. The team boasts a combined 11 Olympic appearances and 10 Olympic gold medals, as well as three FIBA World Cup titles.
Headlining the roster are NBA superstars LeBron James and Kevin Durant, who will be making their fifth and fourth Olympic appearances, respectively. They are joined by nine other players who have previously represented the United States on the international stage, including Chris Paul, James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, and Anthony Davis.
The team will be coached by Gregg Popovich, who led the USA to a gold medal in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Popovich has a long history of success with the national team, having also coached them to a gold medal in the 2014 FIBA World Cup and a bronze medal in the 2016 Olympics.
The United States is expected to be one of the favorites for the gold medal in Paris, as they will be facing off against a number of other top teams, including France, Spain, and Argentina. However, the team will need to be at its best in order to overcome what is expected to be a strong challenge from these other nations.
