Ally McCoist Names Son Mitchell As His Biggest Inspiration

Former Rangers Star Opens Up On Life With Son Who Has Serious Heart Defect

Rangers icon Ally McCoist said his son Mitchell was his biggest inspiration in an emotional interview.

The former Rangers manager's son was born with a serious heart defect and has been in and out of hospital since he was born. McCoist revealed that his son's determination to overcome his obstacles has inspired him to be a more positive person.

"Mitchell has been through more than any of us can imagine and he never gives up," McCoist said.

"He's an inspiration to me every day and I'm so grateful for the time I have with him. He's my hero."

McCoist also spoke about how his son's illness has helped him to appreciate the important things in life.

"I used to get caught up in the rat race, but since Mitchell was born I've realised that there's more to life than work," McCoist said.

"I'm so grateful for the time I have with my family and I cherish every moment. Mitchell has taught me that life is precious and we should never take it for granted."
