The deaths of Iran’s president Ebrahim Raisi and foreign minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a helicopter crash have been confirmed by state media. Rescuers found the crash site after daybreak on Monday.

The helicopter that crashed in Iran on Sunday killing the country’s president and foreign minister in mountain fog was a Bell 212 model.

The crash occurred in the Baft region of Iran’s Kerman province, a mountainous area near the border with Pakistan.

The Bell 212 is a twin-engine, medium-lift helicopter that has been in service for more than 40 years.

It is used by a number of countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Raisi, 60, was a conservative cleric who had been president of Iran since 2021.

Amir Abdollahian, 62, was a career diplomat who had been foreign minister since 2021.

The deaths of Raisi and Amir Abdollahian are a major blow to Iran.

The two leaders were key figures in the country’s government, and their deaths will likely have a significant impact on Iran’s domestic and foreign policy.
